Cat Poems…

TIME OUT

I gave my cat a “time out”
He sat alone in the corner
Miffed and huffing
Looking around at me
With angry eyes
But you know that this
Could not be true
Since no cat will sit still or do
What you ask him to.

CATS, DOGS AND SNAKES

When he got up to bathe,
Cats and dogs spilled out of the spray.
As he walked to work,
Snakes rose up out of the earth.
Then he returned home
To find the sun was gone.

He lay down to sleep
And dreamed on in peace
Of a place where the spray
Existed to bathe
And the snakes stayed beneath
And the sun returned each Morning
To warm the whole Day.

CAT WATCHING

Cat watching
Every sound
And movement.

Make me know
That everything is all right
And no demons are in your sight.

MICE BEFORE CATS CROSSING

The Walk Signs
And the Stop Lights
Work well in New York
Where people Yield
Then Proceed
Like Mice before
Cats crossing.
