Melody

Your voice is like a melody
A cheerful robin’s song
That percolates the early hours
In darkness before dawn.

Not raucous ranting crowing caws
Right in the bright of day
Nor never ending sparrow chats
With nothing ever said.

Through air and through wire
By dark and metallic ways
Your voice springs out as if alive
And sings to me and says,

How wonderful it is to talk,
How spectacular is the day!
